Lisa, the wonderful lady who took our wedding pictures and who has now become a great friend, offered to take some family photos of us at a barn near our home. We met there a couple weeks ago and here are the pictures Jon and I took with our camera.
Our son LOVES the wind in his face. He opens his mouth and tries to eat it! It was very windy this day and Sawyer had his tongue sticking out for almost every picture :-)~

Balloon Fun
A new friend of ours, Ashlee, turned 4 on Friday and his parents, Emily & Mike, had a birthday party for him today. There was a balloon hanging in the doorway to the kitchen and Jon started swinging Sawyer through the air and bonking Sawyer's head off the balloon. Sawyer LOVED it! He was grinning and laughing SO hard!!! (It's great stuff when a baby is really, really laughing) Jon finally had to stop because his arms were tired! Too Fun :-}

Gumby & Pokey
Crawling and exploring go hand in hand with Sawyer now. He's moving, army-crawling, all over the place! Full on crawling is coming soon - LOOK OUT!

So Peaceful While He Sleeps
I love sneaking into Sawyer's room and watching him sleep. I don't get to very often because there are lots of things to get done when he's in a contained area! On the occasions I can though, it's a treat. He always seems to be smiling and I can tell he's having happy baby dreams :-}

Days of Sawyer's Life 9/18-11/05/2008
So, like most babies, our Peanut just keeps on-a-growin'! At his 6 Month check-up, he weighed in at a healthy 18lbs 6.5oz. and was 27" tall. That was 2 weeks ago and I swear he's gained a couple more pounds and grown another inch or two!
He's also gotten TWO teeth :-} I think they are the cutest little things!
Unfortunately, I think Sawyer may have my hair... I was really hoping he would be blessed with Jon's hair! We'll really be able to tell once it grows in more, but for now it is looking very straight, fine and thin.
While Sawyer's teeth were coming in, there was very little sleep in our home. He was up every hour and his Mommy was very, VERY crabby! This started a pattern of him waking up all through the night... As soon as he turned 6 Months old we started to let him cry-it-out. The first couple of nights when he woke up he would cry for about an hour (I know, that sounds horrible, and it was!). Just when I was about to give in and get him, he went back to sleep. By the third night, he was sleeping through, or at least putting himself back to sleep. The pattern hasn't stuck and I'm still up some nights, but it has gotten SO much better :-}
Daily Sawyer is making new faces and sounds. This is his patient face.
Here we have the beginning of Fishy Face! I haven't caught him in full Fish Face yet, but I will soon.
Sawyer had his very first food on Nov. 1st. We gave him Squash and after a couple of unsure faces, he ate it all up!
He rolls all over the place and is sitting up unassisted now. I'm sure that crawling will follow soon... The fun is only just beginning!
