Jan hosted a baby shower for Ruby on Saturday this past weekend. We did an owl theme and it turned out super cute! Ronda made Owl Cupcakes which were AWESOME. I was so impressed with how they turned out! Stacy made an Owl Diaper Cake which was AMAZING! (I haven't taken it apart yet because I like looking at it!) Ruby got a ton of great gifts and I'm very excited to decorate her crib and her corner in our room with all her fun things!!! :-)
Look at these cupcakes... Seriously CUTE! I wish I could have preserved one :-) Also, you can see the owl and elephant picture frames Jan found, which I love!
The Diaper Cake loaded with super cute stuff for Ruby. The cake is made of 75 diapers and decorated with a Headband, an Owl Shirt, a Bib that says "Does this diaper make my butt look big?", a bejeweled Owl Hat, a Nuk, a Picture Frame, a couple Lovies, a little Tiara Hair Clip, and of course the stuffed Owl topper!
Nannie (Great-Grandma Paulette).
Nannie and Mima (Great-Grandma Geraldine). Ruby is named after Mima!
Stacy (Ruby's beautiful and talented Auntie who made the diaper cake!).
Keeli helped me open the presents :-)
Sawyer, having a good time too!
A collection of some of the great gifts Ruby was given...
Our pretty, little angel, all tuckered out after a great day with family!
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you to everyone for making the shower so special! It was everything I wanted to have in a shower for Ruby!!!

Ruby's Owly Baby Shower
"I Hold Her"
Ever since Halloween Sawyer has been asking to hold Ruby. He says "I hold her" when he's asking me if he can and he'll say "Hold you" when he's talking to Ruby. He likes to hold her and give her kisses. I am really impressed with how sweet he is to her! It's really awesome!

With Gramma Jan at the garage sale we had a couple weeks ago.
This picture is funny :-) Ruby was fussy and Jon flipped her over on her tummy to see if she would settle down and she rested her head on her fist in Jon's arm!

Our Texas Home (Part I)
I did not do a good job of getting before pictures of the home we have moved into... I really wish I would have gotten pictures before we filled the place with our stuff and started working on everything. Oh well...
We are living in a little one-bedroom house on Jon's parent's property. The first three weeks here have been spent separating our stuff into three categories.
1 - things we need to have on hand.
2 - things we want but don't need to have on hand and can go to storage.
3 - things we don't need and can go to Goodwill/the Dump.
Finally, this past Saturday we got all the boxes of storage and Goodwill stuff out of the house! It is so nice to have all that stuff gone :-)
Also, we have painted the Living Room, Kitchen, Bathroom and Bedroom. We pulled up the carpet in the Living Room. And the last project to complete is tiling the Bathroom, which Jon will hopefully complete this week!
Here are some pictures of the different stages we've gone through in the house already.
Stage 1 - Moved all of our stuff into our little house, but we were still staying inside the main house with Jon's parent's. Originally the walls in the Living Room were dark wood paneling which you can still kind of see behind the primer. Ronda came over and got the first round of primer done for us (which was really sweet of her!).
The Front Door and closet in the Living Room.
Living Room. You can see the carpet that we ended up pulling up.
Gas heater in the Living Room with the Kitchen sink in the background (which you can't really see, I think there is a garbage bag of stuff in it...).
The Kitchen.
The Bedroom.
The Bathroom.
Stage 2 - These are of the Bedroom and how it looked for a couple weeks while we were sorting through everything. The walls have been painted a light green. Each kiddo has a corner with our bed off to one side. Can you spot Piper in all the mess? :-)
Stage 3 - Jon is cooking in our painted Kitchen. The Living Room is also the same yellow color. Our stove is old! It's gas and we have to light it with a match. I am not quite sure how the oven works or if I will ever really try to use it... Maybe someday if I'm feeling brave! But, the stove works great :-)
Stage 4 - This how our Bedroom looks now! Much, much better! Eventually, I'd like to have curtains for the window and shelves for the wall, but that will come with time.
More pictures of the Outside of the house, Living Room, Kitchen and Bathroom to come!
