Children's Museum

Liz treated the kiddo's and me to the Fort Worth Children's Museum yesterday. We spent 2 hours there running around, playing and having a great time. I can't believe how big the kiddo's are getting!

Austin, TEXAS

This past weekend was my first weekend away from Jon AND the kiddo's! (I haven't been off by myself since the summer of 2007 (if you count my pregnancy with Sawyer), so this was a BIG deal!) My sister-in-law, Liz, and I went down to Austin and stayed with a friend of mine from high school whose name is Erin. Us girls had a fantastic time! It was so great to spend some quality time with Liz and get reacquainted with Erin. And, a HUGE thanks to Erin and Jason, Erin's fiance, for housing us, feeding us, showing us around Austin and being the best hosts EVER!!!

Some highlights of the trip...

Our first night in town, we bar hopped around downtown and had an absolutely great time! I have not laughed so much or danced so much in months (maybe years).

Our petty cab for the evening - Smurf. We tried to pass him for another cabbie, but he was first in line... We laughed about this for the rest of the weekend!






For our first whole day in Austin, we went out to lunch and shopped ALL day. Literally on one of the hottest days of the year, us three girls were walking around shopping. Silly of us since Erin has a pool in her backyard! But, Liz and I really wanted to shop. Also, silly me, I was so excited to get going on our little road trip that I forgot my "going-out" clothes hanging in the closet... I was outfit-less for our second evening in town. All those hours spent shopping, and none us of even bought anything. Bad day for shopping, but a great time with the girls!

After shopping we went back to Erin's and finally got in the pool and had the Blood Mary's I had made from scratch! They were good, but I have some tweaking to do to get them exactly how I like them. I followed THIS recipe.


We swam until it started getting dark and then decided to get ready for dinner and our second night out. (Erin was kind enough to borrow me a shirt. She would have let me borrow an entire outfit, but she's a skinny-minny!) Even though we were all a bit tired from the night before, we really wanted to power through and have another night on the town, it being girls weekend an all. So, we got in a cab and headed to dinner. No joke our caddie was the grumpiest cabbie ever. A complete and total jerk! Kind of a buzz kill... We ate at Guero's, a well known Mexican restaurant and then walked to a near by bar for a drink. We saw this graffiti on the wall while walking around. Lovely!


We decided we weren't really feeling like going out downtown and it was time to head back to Erin's. The cabbie who picked us up had to be the best cabbie ever! We rocked out to Michael Jackson all the way home with the windows down and singing at the top of our lungs! The pictures taken were all hilarious, but I will only share this one of Liz and me as some of them are embarrassing. GREAT TIMES!!!


That evening we stayed up way past our bedtimes reminiscing. The next day, Liz and I's last day in town, we swam and BBQ-ed. It was such a great weekend and will have to be repeated more often!!!

A New Fuller

Randal (Jon's uncle) & Stacy welcomed their third child, another beautiful Fuller baby, into their family last week. Kash's older brother and sister are Kade and Keeli. We can't wait to visit with them all and meet Kash!

I Know Someone Famous!

In my book you're famous if Martha Stewart knows your name. Yes, THE Martha Stewart. Lexia Frank and I met three years ago while working together at The Great Dane in Madison, Wisconsin. Here's a picture of us, both pregnant with our first born boys who are about 6 weeks apart.(Yes, that is a tiara on my head and a glow stick around my neck. It was my baby shower and those girls from The Dane know how to throw a party!!!)

Since The Dane days, Lexia and her husband have moved to Florida and started a photography business, Sugar Leaf Photography. Their stuff is amazing, beautiful and real. ...is about to get a whole lot STUNNINGIER! This also means that I'm going to be an Auntie AGAIN!!! Steven, April and Audrey will welcome a new Madson into their family sometime in April 2011!

Look Ma!

NO Hands!

Ruby is 11 months old today. Can you believe it? I can't.

She's been standing on her own for a little over a week now. Yesterday she took a little step backwards before plopping down on her tush. She's going to walk soon! I'm really excited for two reasons. 1.) I'll have to put cute little shoes on her feet. 2.) Her clothes will stay a bit cleaner.

Ruby is using sign language for More and Milk. She picked up on these two really quick. I haven't been using any of the other signs with her yet... She has her own way of letting you know she's All Done by ripping off her bib!

She has a couple more teeth coming in and soon will have all four of her front top teeth, as well as the bottom two.

Finally, Ruby is getting a bit more hair! It's still very short and fine, but she isn't completely bald anymore :-)

I've been debating on whether or not to get her ears pierced?... I think it would be really cute. BUT, I struggle with adding something close to her face that would catch peoples eyes other than her really cute face! Since she has no hair, you only focus on her face when you look at her. (She is SO pretty!) If I add earrings into the mix, I wonder if it would take away from her prettiness?... Dilemma. What are your thoughts?

So, yeah, I guess I need to start planning a little ONE year old birthday party for Little Lady Fuller!

2nd Anniversary Stuff

I love my new Cactus Garden! Jon got me this from Central Market and it's beautiful. I'm seriously hoping I don't kill it...


We've set the Garden out on Piper's perch where it will get plenty of sun. (The moose was a gift from Mima and his ear keeps falling off. I think the other plant is Aleo Vera, but I'm not 100% sure...)

In the afternoon the kiddo's went over to Gramma and Papa Fuller's and Jon and I went to see a movie and go to dinner (real original!). We saw this:

It was too strange for words. Jon and I both felt dirty when we left the theater...

I mentioned Uncle Julio's HERE and it is definitely our favorite spot for Mexican Food! We sat in the bar and watched pre-season football, had great food, and enjoyed spending time just the two of us!

Jon and I were married two years ago today. We got engaged in February of 2008 and were planning a wedding for summertime in 2009. However, towards the end of July of 2008 Jon really started feeling like we should just get married and plan a celebration at a later time (when we could afford it!). So in about a week we pulled things together to have a very small wedding ceremony.

When we saw 8.8.08 was a Friday and decided that would be the day. After a little more research, we found out the number 8 is symbolic for new beginnings. Perfect. We decided we'd like to get married on a dock at The Memorial Union in Madison, WI. The first summer Jon and I met we went to a wedding reception at The Union and Jon has always told me that was the night he realized he had fallen in love with me. A year and a half later he proposed to me there.

We had originally decided to only have Sawyer, our pastor, his wife and another friend from church there. We weren't going to invite friends or family. Then as the week went on, I really wanted to invite my parents. Jon's family were all in Texas, but mine were in Minnesota... So, my parents were invited (this made them very happy!).

One of the final major decisions was to get married at sunrise. At the beginning of the day. Best decision ever. We were the only people at The Union and the ceremony was beautiful!
